About SCOPD
The Standing Committee on Professional Development (SCOPD) focuses on enhancing personal and professional skills of medical students beyond clinical knowledge. We organize workshops, training sessions, and events that develop leadership, communication, entrepreneurship, and other soft skills essential for a successful medical career.
At SCOPD, we believe that a well-rounded physician needs more than just medical expertise. Our initiatives aim to prepare students for the challenges of modern healthcare by fostering essential competencies that complement their academic training.

Staff Training Initiative
በቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ሆስፒታል ሚሊንየም ሕክምና ኮሌጅ የኢትዮጵያ ህክምና ተማሪዎች ህብረት (EMSA St. Paul's) በተማሪዎች ግቢ ውስጥ ለሚገኙ በፕሮክተርነት፣ በካፍቴርያ፣ በጥበቃ እና በፅዳት ሙያ ላይ ተሰማርተው ለሚገኙ ሰራተኞች "ከብልሹ አሰራር የፀዳ መልካም አገልግሎት" በሚል ርዕስ የመጀመርያውን ዙር ስልጠና ሰጠ።
PDx Entrepreneurship Talk
Our first PDx event featured insights from Ablenae Dawit, CEO of Sewasew Design, about entrepreneurship challenges and opportunities. He shared how he built a business that now employs 30 people, covering skills from communication to risk-taking.

SCOPD, EMSA St. Paul and Roots and Wings NGO have signed an MoU, joining hands for a meaningful collaboration. Together with Dr. Sileshi Yitbarek and our president Sumeya Nahwi, we aim to make a positive impact working towards an inclusive society.
Service Excellence Training
"ከብልሹ አሰራር የፀዳ መልካም አገልግሎት" - We recently conducted a highly successful training session for our Proctors, Janitors, Securities, and Cafeteria workers on campus, focusing on service excellence and professional conduct.
